Casual sex.

It has become casual as casual can be.

Movies, songs, music videos and even men’s health magazines.

I recently started reading a book by Dr. Gary Rose of the Medical Institute of Sexual Health.

In his book “Hooked: New Science on How Casual Sex is Affecting our Children”, Dr. Gary Rose says that modern neuroscience has uncovered startling new information about how sex affects our brains.

Sex can literally change a person’s brain, influencing the thought process and affecting future decisions.

When sex is experienced in healthy ways, it adds great value and satisfaction to life, but when experienced in unhealthy ways, at the wrong time, it can damage vital aspects of who we are as human beings.

The adolescent brain is uniquely moldable and receptive to ideas and behaviors.

Scientists are now beginning to see and understand results of sexual involvement that can last a lifetime.

Besides the risk of sexually transmitted disease and unwanted pregnancy, medical science is now realizing the other harmful effects to a person, a young person in particular.

Christie, a 29 year old woman tells her story: “I had no idea how having sex as a teenager could affect the rest of my life. I didn’t really know what love was. By the time I got married, sex was so confusing for me. It has been a huge issue in our marriage and I don’t know how to fix it.”

What have been the new discoveries of medical science regarding this topic?

Will share it in my next blog. (this coming Monday morning)
